2.1 What We DO NOT Collect:

• ❌ Form data — caste, income, residence certificate details
• ❌ Browsing history — websites you visit or search queries
• ❌ Location data — GPS coordinates, IP addresses, region info
• ❌ Financial data — payment information, UPI IDs, transaction details
• ❌ Authentication data — passwords, credentials, security questions
• ❌ Any data from other websites — works only on RTPS portal

2.2 What IS Stored (Locally Only):

Form data that you explicitly choose to save is stored ONLY on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. This data never leaves your computer.

• ✅ Profile names (given by you)
• ✅ Saved form field values (caste, income, residence details you entered)
• ✅ All data resides in Chrome's local storage
• ✅ You can delete this data anytime from the extension popup

3. Permissions Explained

Our extension requires certain Chrome permissions to function. Here's exactly why each is needed:

• 🔹 storage — To save your form profiles locally on your device. Without this, the extension cannot remember saved data.
• 🔹 activeTab — To read and fill form fields on the current RTPS page only when you click the extension icon. No automatic or background access.
• 🔹 scripting — To extract form field values (for saving) and to fill previously saved values (for auto-fill). Scripts execute only on user action.
• 🔹 Host permission: serviceonline.bihar.gov.in — The extension ONLY works on the official Bihar Government RTPS portal. It cannot access any other website or domain.

4. Third-Party Services

This extension includes optional external links for community support and donations. These are plain links only — no data is shared with these platforms:

• Telegram: Optional link to our support channel (@rtpsautofill)
• WhatsApp: Optional link to our support channel
• UPI: Optional donation via UPI payment apps

Clicking these links opens the respective app/website — no extension data is transmitted.

5. Data Security

• All data is stored using Chrome's secure storage.local API
• Data is encrypted at rest by Chrome's built-in security
• No data is transmitted over the internet
• The security of your data ultimately depends on your device's security

6. Your Rights & Control

You have complete control over your data at all times:

• ✅ Save data only when you choose to click "Save"
• ✅ Delete individual profiles anytime using the "Delete" button
• ✅ Export your data for backup using the "Export" button
• ✅ Import previously exported data using the "Import" button
• ✅ Uninstall the extension to permanently remove all stored data

7. Children's Privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 years of age. The extension is a utility tool for filling government forms and is not targeted at children.
